i returned the call 2 hrs and 40 minute later. it answered with an automated company. I pressed 1 to prevent unwanted calls from your university corresponding company. then i entered my telephone number to position it on a do not buzz list.

Hang up the phone local call on my VOIP - a websearch indcates the number is in Big Bear, CA, a town I identify as home to some scam artists as stated in previous articles here. Hold up calls are often autodialer or robo caller calls when a live human responses if there is no telemarketer instantly available where in actuality the machine hangs up or if the machine identifies the trademark of an answering machine. Others here have indicated they do not answer unidentified callers - I take that one step fruther and place a Particular Information Tone - those audio tones whenever you accomplish a number that is out-of company - at the beginning of my voice-mail - most auto-dialers, robo products and possibly most live telemarketers hang up and instantly take your number off their list when they hear those tones. You can down load a plehtoria of these tones off the internet - just perform a search for Specific Informaion Colors - Though Wikipedia features a nice history, I prefer http://www.yourhomenow.com/sit.html better.Good luck - OH, if all else fails and you keep finding uncomfortable calls in the same places, there's also amulance chasers - lawyers - who'll sue telemarketers and bill collectors for free - but you've to report the violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act first -but if you do this, you can obtain up to 1,000 or maybe more for each infraction.

Therefore, scammers could make the caller-id show whatever they need. This may seem like a scammer that's cheating theyare calling from the fax quantity of a charity, but they have nothing to do with that charity. Simply stop it and move ahead.
