Calls no information to all the time...

This desk phone number (even though it was (631) 482-4451 recently) has called me repeatedly today (beginning at 8am westcoast time!). The phone hangs up, after I answer. After I do not answer, the phone call visits voice mail and the message it leaves is just a series of beeps. I've not tried to phone-calls this number back. I believe that my desk phone number has been received by some con corporation from a recent list I opted for online.
