TDA awards 'Teach' magazine contract to PSP Rare STAN 28th Jul 2009

The Training & Development Agency for Schools (TDA), which is currently relocating its head office to Manchester city centre from London, has awarded the contract to produce the new version of its Teach magazine to leading contract publishing company, PSP Rare and STAN

The initial two year contract, with two, one year extensions, will see PSP Rare produce three issues a year, with work beginning immediately on the first magazine scheduled for October. STAN will deliver the digital communications of Teach.

PSP Rare also now has a regional presence in the North West after its parent company recently took a stake in local PR and digital agency, STAN. As part of the group,s broader multimedia offer, the traditional subscription magazine will also be supported by an online version and a regular e-bulletin campaign to trail new stories and promote TDA initiatives to would-be teachers.

Now based in Manchester's Piccadilly Plaza, TDA is the national agency and recognised sector body responsible for the training and development of the school workforce. This new publishing contract follows a review of its existing customer magazine output and its decision to merge two separate titles, previously targeted at teacher trainees and former teachers returning to the profession, into one overall publication.

The new Teach magazine will remain at the heart of TDA's recruitment drive to attract new trainees and former teachers back into teaching. It will deliver lively content on the key education issues of the day, together with practical information, inspirational case study experiences and teacher profiles.

PSP Rare's Marc Bates, who manages the TDA account said: "We have been producing magazines for TDA since 2003 and have developed a great understanding of the client's recruitment objectives and the important role that Teach plays in that process. We are therefore delighted to have secured this new contract and to have the opportunity to combine our traditional contract publishing expertise with the latest digital marketing techniques."

"Reaching teachers goes beyond traditional publishing, Teach will be one of a few new titles that extends readership using online communications," remarked Stephen Greene, Digital Director at STAN.

TDA commented: "PSP Rare/STAN offered a professional and inspiring solution and we look forward to working with them on this new publication"

STAN doesn't waste time creating 'noise', exposure for the sake of it. PR and creative communication is about designing, developing and delivering solutions that work.
