STAN bags hot new social networking site 22nd Jul 2009

Manchester based communication agency STAN has beaten fierce competition to win the brief for new UK-based social networking site, new2thecity.com.

Launching this September in its home city of Liverpool, new2thecity.com aims to connect people who've moved to a new city with faces, places, vouchers and events. Finding out more about where to go and what to do while making new friends is one of the biggest challenges for someone new to the city.

Created by Merseyside entrepreneurs Richard Appleby and Daniel Kirkham they hope to take new2thecity.com to other cities across the UK and eventually internationally. A bold move creating a new social networking site, let alone in a recession, the website will be one of the few developed and ambitiously launched outside of North America.

Created by Merseyside entrepreneurs Richard Appleby and Daniel Kirkham they "At STAN we're concerned with connected messaging; and, in a way, so is new2thecity.com" Stephen Greene, Digital Director at STAN explains. "How the public communicates with each other offers an important lesson for business. It isn't enough to use SEO or PR for awareness. Websites need to help create a relationship the public can not only understand and get enthusiastic about, but use."

Created by Merseyside entrepreneurs Richard Appleby and Daniel Kirkham they new2thecity.com Director Daniel Kirkham said: "Students, tourists and travellers, those new to the city were under-represented by other sites. We felt they needed a forum; an anchor in unfamiliar places. STAN got it, the concept, and got us. As a PR and digital creative agency their integrated approach was what new2thecity.com needed."

new2thecity.com launches in September of this year.

STAN doesn't waste time creating 'noise', exposure for the sake of it. PR and creative communication is about designing, developing and delivering solutions that work.
